Experience
Kristie began her career in health policy in 1998 working with the North Carolina Institute of Medicine, where she served as a Project Director for five years and as Assistant Vice President and Managing Editor of the North Carolina Medical Journal for three years. In 2007, she joined the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund, where she served as a Research and Policy Officer, researching and developing new grant initiatives. In 2010, she returned to UNC as a research associate at the Cecil. G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research where she works with the North Carolina Rural Health Research and Policy Analysis Center on rural health research project focusing primarily on financial status of rural hospitals and Medicare payment policies.
