Rural hospital finances and patterns of care were heavily disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Updated research is needed to understand the post-COVID operating environment in Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs). This project will analyze trends in patient volume and revenue sources in CAHs, and whether these changes are associated with hospital financial performance and other characteristics.
